Trinity College has always recognised the importance of the support the Trimley Estate can give to the Port of Felixstowe, and the growth of Felixstowe has been matched by the steady expansion of cargo handling at the Estate’s Trinity Distribution Park.

Trinity Distribution Park is the major commercial and industrial logistics park for the Port of Felixstowe.  It is home to leading national and international occupiers including Hutchison Whampoa Ltd, the Maersk Company Ltd, Medite Shipping Co (UK) and China Shipping.

The Park plays a key role in keeping the UK’s trade moving, and delivers real benefits to customers, the community and industry connecting the port to distribution hubs in the Midlands and elsewhere in the UK.

Why choose the Trinity Distribution Park

Adjacent to the Trimley Estate, Felixstowe is Britain’s biggest and busiest container port, and one of the largest in Europe. It welcomes approximately 3,000 ships each year, including the largest container vessels afloat today. Crucially, the port provides some of the deepest water close to the open sea of any European port. Around 17 shipping lines operate from Felixstowe, offering approximately 31 services to and from 709 ports around the world. In 2017 it welcomed 166 calls by the largest class of mega-ships, more than any other port in the country.

Some 44% of the all UK container traffic goes through Felixstowe which is the main employer in the area providing more than 2,000 jobs directly. Felixstowe is of vital economic importance to the UK and to the future of Felixstowe and surrounding villages. The Trinity Distribution Park plays a crucial role in supporting the Port.

The Port of Felixstowe provides the best location in Britain for importing and exporting goods because it is closer than any other port to the main European shipping lanes within the Hamburg - Le Havre range.  This brings several key benefits to customers:

• Time savings

• Cost savings

• Reduced carbon emissions

• Reduced risk of tidal and congestion delay

The world’s largest container vessels can fit anywhere in the port rotation of major services with minimum deviation from the main shipping routes, and at just two hours from the pilot station, our flexibility and speed cannot be matched.

The Port of Felixstowe offers unparalleled flexibility and a broad choice of connections to customers wanting to import and export.  Some 17 shipping lines operating through the Port, providing 31 services a week across all continents.
